Zen’s main income comes from teaching History in an advanced class of students. His students are generally well behaved; he thinks it’s because he’s a good teacher, but it’s more likely that he has a tendency to wave his whip around and may have ‘accidently’ whipped a student or two who has been out of line.

Part time Flora and Fauna Researcher
This is more of his hobby, but he does make some cash while ‘working on the side’. His inventions are usually offered and sold to the Lumerian government in more of a farming/agriculture aid. His works usually involve creating weird but useful species of plants such as exploding berries or sugar flavored carrots. He also likes to catch wild animals and jot down notes in his sketchbook. Sometimes, he keeps them for a few days for observation, but he always releases them.

Zen has a lot of free time, so sometimes he does odd jobs for people, sometimes out of boredom, sometimes out of a need of cash. Jobs he would take up consists of Torturer/ Executor, Tracker, Animal Trainer, Farmhand, Warrior/Defender, and anything that is in his talents and expertise.

Talents:

Zen is very skilled in the art of roping. His background of growing up in a farm has acquired him a hobby and the talent of using ropes. He can practically make any thing out of it. Knots are his favourite past time, his hands tend to work on their own whenever he holds a string of rope, resulting in some of the most complicated knots that even he can’t untie. This also means he is quite specialized in binding and tying up a person or an animal in his inescapable trap. This also means he has the ability to make a perfectly good lasso, learned from his childhood ages. His aim in lassoing is also top notch.

With the very same rope, Zen could use it as a whip. That would be his weapon of choice. Even though he might not be the strongest whipper around, with his accuracy, he could easily aim his whip at strategic sensitive areas to bring out the worst yells among his victims. Yes, I’m trying to make this bio as suggestive as possible =.=

He also has a way with the animals, having grown up with animals himself; he has a way of communicating with them and calming them down. In fact this trait might have come from his mother, as she had a way of attracting animals too. It is possible that he may unconsciously use magic while doing this. Unfortunately for Zen, his way with the animals is not carried along into his way with children.

Personality:

Zen is mostly a friendly unicorn. He is a genuine gentlemen and treats almost everyone equally. He believes in peace and equality, although he doesn’t mind working as an assassin or a killer if he was really desperate. He likes working as a torturer too, it allows him to practice his whipping skills. Speaking of whipping, Zen is very much oblivious to his whipping and when it is appropriate for such actions. He doesn’t even know that his whipping actually hurt Even though he works with the young’uns, he has no understanding of being fatherly to younger ones like toddlers and babies, and tends to get into awkward situations.

History:

Zen was born from a Pegasus father and a Unicorn mother. As a child, they couldn’t tell whether Zen was a Unicorn or a Pegasus because he was born without a horn. Instead, a peculiar blue star took it’s place in the middle of his’ forehead. He was brought up on his uncle’s land, a grey unicorn, obviously from his mother’s side. He was a farmer and he taught Zen most of what he knows today. His roping skills are exclusively passed down from his uncle. His uncle also trained him in the arts of horseback riding and lassoing, his skills were needed to gather the herds of animals his uncle kept at that time. When his was around 17, he left his uncle’s home to go further his studies in teaching.

Additional Info:

Zen prefers to be without his winter coat as much as possible. Indoors, he relies on fireplaces and heating systems to keep him warm instead.

Zen always wear a retractable wrist rope which he could easily pull out in times of need. The rope is unknown meters long, but can easily reach a top of a 5 storey building if needed.
